My Review
After 4 episodes now , this has been by far the best episode for me. The contrast between Bustling Brazil with its lively , colourful culture and Majestic Namibia with its deafening silence but roaring in its stoic demeanour is an excellent portrayal of how sometimes in life , we need to quiet down so that we can hear the sound of our own voice and see the beauty of our surroundings. Fast forward to episode 4 , Bolin described the land has "having nothing but containing everything" .. (another Classic Quote from Professor Chen..) but we'll get to that later ... let's not get ahead of ourselves .
In this episode , the bond between Bolin and his furry friend , FiFi deepens and his one sided conversation continues to delight me. The serious hotdog conversation between the dog and him for example is one that we would all unlikely to forget...
I'm guessing that FiFi is a miniature fox terrier breed based on his upright ears and sharp features. Fox Terriers are developed as a hunting dog so perhaps that's the reason why FiFi has a thing for bugs. FiFi must have gone to a really serious dog school because to willingly follow a stranger and protect him as if he is your master is so amazing for me. I wish FiFi's owner has an Instagram account so that we can catch up on how she is doing . She's so lovely.... I wish I could've met her too.
Bolin's hunger was also a main discussion as he is running out of funds . USD 40 a day was Bolin's estimation ... it should be ok typically if it's just daily expenses but with lodging and petrol , it's really really tight . He had to split a hotdog between 2 meals . For his height and weight , it's not easy.
His wrap up at the end of the day about facing yourself honestly and making the best of the path you chose is just so resounding . I'm so proud to be his fan , honestly . He's one in a million. I guess that's the reason his fan base has grown since Diva aired !
